RTG led the design and construction phase for this $124M project to partially reconstruct an existing segmental direct connector and add three new direct connections to an existing four-level urban intersection. Additionally, RTG was responsible for associated improvements to 2.4 miles of IH 35 and 1.3 miles of US 183, including:
• Addition of collector-distributor lanes to bypass the St. John’s intersection
• Addition/improvement of pedestrian elements
• Acquisition of 29 ROW parcels
• Coordination with 10 utility companies for relocations (gas, electric, water, wastewater, and telecommunications)
The project was designed in a compressed timeframe of 16 months and let in August 2017.
