RTG led the schematic design and PS&E development to reconstruct Gattis School Road (Segment 3) from 0.25 miles west of A.W. Grimes Blvd. to 0.20 miles east of Double Creek Drive. The project is located along a developed corridor that includes adjacent chuches, commercial development, recreational centers, high schools, and a fire station. The project scope includes both the widening of the existing section to full reconstruction and converting the existing roadway from a four-lane to a six-lane divided facility. A 10-ft wide shared use path will be included throughout the project limits. Three cross drainage structures were improved, including a FEMA Zone AE bridge-class culvert crossing.
RTG developed the preliminary schematic design and provided support to the City during public involvement efforts. The public involvement efforts included a public meeting and meetings with affected property owners. RTG developed a detailed 3D rendering of the project to illustrate the proposed improvements to the general public to help gain public support at the public meeting.
