US 69/ 96/ 287, Beaumont - TxDOT Beaumont District (Prime)
South of IH 10 to US 69/287-US 96 Split
Alternative analysis, traffic studies and preparation of design schematics and ROW determination for 10 miles of urban controlled-access freeway widening and reconstruction. CORSIM was utilized to model interim year traffic to prepare an implementation plan outlining a phased implementation of the ultimate improvement and needed opening year for the various identified construction phases.

 

IH 35, San Antonio - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
North of Loop 1604 to Walzem Road
Conceptual layout and development of alternative schematics of 7 miles of urban controlled-access freeway widening and reconstruction. Project included the IH 35 interchange with IH 410 (Fratt interchange) and 2 miles of associated improvements along IH 410. Typical section included four to five general-purpose lanes, two express lanes, one concurrent flow HOV lane and a three to four frontage road lanes in each direction.

 

IH 10, Bexar & Kendall County - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
US 87 North of Boerne to Camp Bullis Road
Alternative analysis and the preparation of design schematics for the upgrade of 17.8 miles of rural two-lane controlled-access freeway to a six and eight-lane rural and urban section facility. Project included drainage analysis, environmental studies and ROW maps. Project also included the traffic analysis and schematic layout of suggested bottleneck improvements for the 3.5-mile section from Huebner Road to IH 410.

 

IH 10 - Loop 1604 Interchange, San Antonio -TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
IH 10 - Camp Bullis Road to Huebner Road
Loop 1604 - Kyle Seale Parkway to Lockhill-Selma

Design schematics for the addition of direct connectors and other improvements to the existing cloverleaf interchange, including 5.5 miles of IH 10 improvements to upgrade the facility to a six to ten-lane urban section and 4.7 miles of improvements along Loop 1604 to widen the facility with a combination of toll and free lanes to an eight to ten-lane section.

 

IH 45, Galveston -TxDOT Houston District (Prime)
South End of Galveston Causeway to 59th Street
Schematic design of 2.5 miles of urban controlled-access freeway reconstruction to add capacity and raise the facility above hurricane tidal action. Scope included alternative analysis, traffic analysis, construction sequencing, geometric schematic and drainage overview.

 

IH 45, Harris County - TxDOT Houston District (Prime)
Beltway 8 to FM 518
Preparation of alternative and design schematics of 10 miles of urban controlled-access freeway widening and reconstruction. Project included both reversible and concurrent-flow HOV lane sections and the reconstruction of existing rural frontage roads to a three-lane urban section. Scope of work also included traffic operational analysis of the corridor including the IH 45 / Beltway 8 directional interchange.

 

SH 45, Austin - Texas Turnpike Authority (Prime)
East of IH 35 to SH 130
Preparation of design schematics and traffic analysis of 4 miles of urban six-lane controlled-access tollway. The project was along existing two and four-lane roadways and included both rural and urban sections. Schematic design included the layout of a directional interchange with SH 130.

 

IH 35, San Antonio -TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
Coliseum Road to New Braunfels Avenue
Environmental studies, alternative analysis and the preparation of design schematics for frontage road, ramp and mainlane lane balance improvements for 2 miles of IH 35 to accommodate the reconstruction of Walters Street to a six-lane divided facility to serve as a new main entrance to Fort Sam Houston.

 

IH 35, San Antonio - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
North of Loop 1604 to Walzem Road

Geometric schematic design for the upgrade of 3.2 miles of an existing rural four-lane controlled-access freeway with two-way frontage roads to an eight-lane urban facility with one-way frontage roads. Project also required hydrologic studies, and the preparation of design cross-sections and preliminary traffic control, storm sewer and retaining wall layouts.

 

US 290/ IH 610 - IH 10 Interchange, Houston -TxDOT Houston District (Subconsultant)
US 290 - Dacoma to IH 10
IH 610 - TC Jester to US 290

Alternatives development and schematic design of a multi-leg directional interchange. Project included elevated express lanes and multiple direct connections from US 290 to IH 10 and from IH 610 to IH 10. Alternatives were developed to avoid impacts to an adjacent superfund site along IH 610 as well as minimizing impacts to neighborhoods and businesses. RTG performed all alternative and geometric schematic tasks for this section.

 

IH 35, Williamson and Travis County -TxDOT Austin District (Subconsultant)
MIS Phase 2 - North of Georgetown to US 290 East
Preparation of design schematics for 19 miles of urban controlled-access freeway widening and reconstruction, including the layout of the IH 35/ SH 45 directional interchange. Project included reversible HOV lanes, six to ten mainlanes and the reconstruction of existing rural frontage roads to a three-lane urban section. RTG performed all geometric schematic tasks for this section.

 

IH 35, Williamson and Travis County -TxDOT Austin District (Subconsultant)
MIS Phase 1 - North of Georgetown to Hays County Line
Conceptual schematic design of 40 miles of urban controlled-access freeway widening and reconstruction. Multiple alternatives were designed including depressed and elevated freeway sections, collector-distributor roadway sections, reversible lanes, HOV lanes, and various methods of widening an existing two-level freeway section. RTG developed the three original alternative schematics for the corridor.

 

PR 22 (JFK Causeway), Nueces County -TxDOT Corpus Christi District (Subconsultant)
Waldron Road to Aquarius Drive
Alternative studies and the preparation of preliminary schematics for reconstruction above hurricane tidal action and capacity improvements for 4.7 miles of urban freeway, rural divided highway, and urban divided roadway. Project included traffic analysis of construction phasing to ensure island evacuation times remain adequate during construction. RTG was responsible for the development of one alternative, which was later determined to be the technically preferred alternative.

 

US 190, Killeen -TxDOT Waco District (Subconsultant)
SH 195 to FM 2410
Preparation of alternative and design schematics for partial frontage road reconstruction, ramp revisions and capacity improvements for 5.5 miles of urban four-lane controlled-access freeway. RTG prepared the geometric design for the project.

SH 99 (Grand Parkway) Segment A, Galveston County - TxDOT Houston District (Prime)
IH 45 to SH 146
Feasibility analysis and preliminary environmental study for a proposed toll facility to extend the planned SH 99 through League City. Scope of work included defining study area, traffic and toll feasibility studies, corridor evaluation and recommendation, environmental constraints mapping, need and purpose definition, and preparation of draft and final Technical Report.

 

Loop 1604, Bexar County - Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (Subconsultant)
IH 35 North to US 90 West
Conceptual schematic layout of three alternatives (added general purpose (GP) lanes, managed lanes outside of GP lanes, managed lanes inside of GP lanes) for adding capacity to 35 miles of urban controlled-access freeway. Project included the Loop 1604 interchanges with IH 35, US 281, IH 10 West, and SH 151. RTG performed all schematic design tasks for the three alternatives.

FM 1957 (Potranco Road), Bexar and Medina County - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
Loop 1604 to FM 471
Alternative analysis, traffic studies and preparation of design schematics and ROW determination for the reconstruction of 11 miles of rural two-lane roadway to an urban four to six-lane divided section. A detailed hydraulic analysis and preliminary storm sewer layout was also performed.

 

Walters Street, San Antonio - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
East of IH 35 to Fort Sam Houston Gate
Environmental studies and the preparation of alternative and design schematics for the reconstruction of one mile of Walters Street to a six-lane divided facility with bike lanes to serve as a new main entrance to Fort Sam Houston. Project included new overpass bridge over IH 35.

 

Loop 337, New Braunfels - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
IH 35 Business to Common Street
Preparation of design schematics for the upgrade of an existing rural two-lane roadway to a five-lane urban facility. Project included the widening of two structures and a railroad overpass.

 

FM 1960, Humble - TxDOT Houston District (Prime)
BU 1960 to the Lake Houston Bridge
Alternative analysis and the preparation of design schematics and ROW determination for the reconstruction of 6.1 miles of primarily rural four-lane roadway to an urban six to eight-lane divided section. The cost-benefit of an overpass alternative over a high volume intersection was also analyzed and included with the recommended alternative as a phased improvement.

 

SH 36, Fort Bend County - TxDOT Houston District (Prime)
US 59 to FM 2218
Preparation of preliminary and final design schematics and ROW determination for the reconstruction of 3 miles of rural two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided section that includes both rural and urban sections. The facility is a designated hurricane evacuation route.

 

FM 521, Harris County - TxDOT Houston District (Prime)
Beltway 8 to south of FM 2234
Alternative analysis, traffic studies, and design schematics for the reconstruction of 1.5 miles of rural two-lane roadway to an urban six-lane divided section. Capacity improvements to the FM 521-FM 2234 intersection and the addition of railroad grade separations for both FM 521 and FM 2234 was included.

Preparation of alternative and design schematics for reconstruction of 2 miles of primarily rural four-lane roadway to an urban five-lane section. Project included new UPRR overpass with at-grade access roads for local circulation.

Avenue D to North of the Brazos River
Alternative studies and preparation of design schematics for upgrading 1.5 miles of two-lane rural roadway to a five-lane urban facility including layout of a new bridge crossing the Brazos River.

FM 723 to FM 1464
Alternative studies, traffic analysis and the preparation of design schematics for upgrading 8 miles of two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided facility.

US 83, Kimble & Menard County - TxDOT San Angelo District (Prime)
IH 10 in Junction to Menard South City Limit
Route studies, environmental studies, drainage analysis and the preparation of design schematics and ROW maps for the conversion of 29 miles of an existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided facility (trunk system improvements).

 

SH 21; Hays, Caldwell and Travis County - TxDOT Austin District (Prime)
US 183 to CR 254
Route studies, alternative layouts, schematic design and environmental document for the reconstruction of 16 miles of rural two-lane highway to a four-lane divided section. Project included public involvement, feasibility analysis and preliminary layout of managed lanes on Yarrington Road and SH 21 to tie IH 35 to SH 130.

 

SH 127, Concan (Uvalde County) - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
US 83 to East of the Frio River
Alternative analysis and preparation of design schematics for the addition of a new bridge over the Frio River to replace an existing low water bridge. The schematic depicted improvements to 1.1 miles of roadway, while environmental analysis was performed on a total of 6 miles of safety and shoulder improvements.

 

Loop 337, New Braunfels - TxDOT San Antonio District (Prime)
Hanz Drive to IH 35 South of New Braunfels
Alternative analysis and schematic design for the upgrade of 6.5 miles of an existing rural two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided facility with grade separated interchanges at selected locations. Project required full earthwork analysis and determination of water quality BMP requirements.

 

FM 1719, Potter County - TxDOT Amarillo District (Prime)
Loop 335 to US 87/ US 287
Alternative studies and preparation of design schematics for the upgrade of 6.5 miles of two county roads (Western Blvd. and Givens Road) to a Farm to Market highway. Project required drainage analysis, ROW determination to allow district preparation of ROW maps and extensive utility coordination.

US 83/84 to FM 1750
Alternative studies and preparation of the design schematic to upgrade 3.8 miles of a county road (Clark Road) to a Farm to Market highway.

Route studies and preparation of alternative and design schematics for the conversion of 18 miles of an existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided facility (trunk system improvements). Both existing and new location alternatives were studied. RTG performed all alternative and geometric schematic tasks for the project.

 

SH 36, Caldwell County - TxDOT Bryan District (Subconsultant)
